Millie Bobby Brown is looking back on the adoption process.
The Stranger Things star, 22, appeared on a new episode of Kylie Kelce's Not Gonna Liepodcast, where she chatted with the mom of four, 34, about becoming a parent through adoption. The Enola Holmes 3 star announced in August 2025 that she and husband Jake Bongiovi had adopted a baby girl.
Asked to share any advice with other parents who might want to adopt, Brown revealed what the hardest part of the process was for her.
"Every journey is different. Waiting for the call is the hardest part," she shared. "I just would always encourage you to understand that every journey is different. Don't compare yourself to others, don't compare yourself to statistics, don't compare yourself to other families, but your baby is out there, and you'll find each other."

"That's something I prayed for every night," she added. "I was just very grateful that our baby was out there and we found each other."

Brown also noted that adoption was something she always knew she wanted to do.

"Always, always wanted to adopt," she said "It was always part of my childhood dreams. Every time I was at home and I was, you know, 5, 6 years old, my parents were like, 'You had your baby dolls.' They were all adopted. I never had any of them myself. And I never pretended I was pregnant."

Brown clarified that she plans to carry children of her own one day, adding, "It's not because I don't want that. Hopefully one day that's in my future."
But the adoption process was important to Brown, who said, "Adoption is love, adoption is forever."

Sharing that she enrolled at Purdue University to be a social worker before transferring over to be a vet, Brown shared, "I loved the aspect of adoption in my social work courses… so meaningful and important. And then I also learned what it, you know, speaking to, and reading a lot about being a birth mother and what that journey is. So for me, my husband and I took a lot of time to focus on what that story, and what that journey, looks like. And then we embarked [on] it."
Brown and Bongiovi have kept their daughter's life relatively private, opting not to publicly share her name or photos of her face online.
"This summer, we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption," the couple shared in their 2025 announcement. "We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in peace and privacy."
