Rita Simons, who previously competed on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! and Celebrity MasterChefis no stranger to reality television. Now, the former EastEnders star has hinted that she may be open to taking part in another high-profile competition series, this time, The Traitors.
Speaking exclusively with Parade, the former EastEnders actress shared that she is “such a fan girl” of the BBC reality competition series The Traitors.
The U.K. series is hosted by BAFTA Award-winner Claudia Winkleman. Earlier this year the series hosted its first Celebrity Spin-off, in which 19 celebrity contestants took to the Scottish Highlands to compete for £100,000 ($133,776) for the charity of their choice. The first season was watched by over 15 million viewers and was recently confirmed to be renewed for a second season, expected to air in 2026.
When asked whether she would consider competing herself, the multiple British Soap Award-winning actress was unequivocal. “Yes, I'd take part in an instant,” Simons said, speaking on behalf of WhichBingo.
As for how she thinks she would fare in a game built on lies, deception, and deceit, Simons was refreshingly candid. “I think I'd be really bad at being a traitor,” she openly admitted. “I'm a really good actress, but I'm a terrible liar to people I know, so it would be hard.”

Simons began her professional acting career in 2002 on Dream Team before being cast in her award-winning role as Roxy Mitchell on EastEnders in 2007. The actress would remain with the BBC soap until 2017, when the character was tragically killed off. Since then, the actress has participated in various reality series including Celebrity Supermarket Sweep, and Celebrity MasterChef, as well as completing a successful stint on the Channel 4 soap opera Hollyoaks.
The Traitors U.K. is set to return for its fourth season on the BBC in January 2026, with episodes expected to stream on Peacock in the U.S. shortly thereafter.
